Privacy policy
Last updated: 5 November 2026
This policy covers the website albz.it, including its articles. It explains what the site stores, which third parties it talks to, and what rights you have. The Iris app has its own privacy policy.
Data controller
Alberto Barrago, reachable at albertobarrago@gmail.com. No Data Protection Officer has been appointed, since the site does not require one.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies, neither its own nor third-party ones. That is why it shows no cookie banner.
Browser storage
The site keeps a few values in your browser's localStorage, only to remember your own choices. They never leave your device and are never sent to anyone:
blogFilters: the filters you picked on the articles page.tetrisHigh, spaceInvadersHigh, flappyBirdHigh: your best scores in the built-in games.
You can delete them at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
Statistics
The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It sets no cookies, does not use your browser's storage and does not fingerprint you. It records aggregate data only, such as page views, referrers, countries and page load times, which cannot be used to identify you. The legal basis is legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in understanding how the site is used. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Hosting
The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like any web server, GitHub records technical data for each request, including your IP address, to deliver the pages and keep the service secure. I have no access to these logs. See GitHub's privacy statement.
"Now playing"
The home page may show the track I am currently listening to. To get it, your browser contacts a small service of mine running on Cloudflare Workers (albz-spotify.albertobarrago.workers.dev), which in turn asks Spotify. The request carries no information about you, but Cloudflare sees your IP address as part of the connection. Nothing about your visit is sent to Spotify.
External links
The site links to other services, such as GitHub, Bluesky, Spotify and the resources listed under utils. Once you follow a link, that service's own privacy policy applies.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify and erase your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. To exercise them, write to albertobarrago@gmail.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority; in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
Sale of personal data
No personal data is sold or shared for advertising, including under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
Changes
If the site starts handling data differently, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change.
